State-of-the-art time recording

Together with Intelliact, Alder+Eisenhut developed a web-based solution for their time recording, which is coordinated with the detailed planning. Multiple access and parallel working are now possible without restriction.

Challenge: Late entries and access restrictions

Alder+Eisenhut used to manage their hours recording using Excel lists. Installation assembly workers usually did not enter their entire work week until Friday, as they are usually on the road. Afterwards, a person responsible for administration checked their entries. As a result, several corrections had to be made. Disadvantages of this solution are obvious: late and thus inaccurate or incomplete entries because they were made days later, access restrictions to one user and synchronisation problems between the Excel lists, the "central" Access database and the ERP system.

Together with Intelliact, Alder+Eisenhut implemented a solution for the recording of hours, which is linked to the solution previously developed by Intelliact for the rough and detailed planning as well as to the ERP. The web-based application "Harvest" was used as software-as-a-service for the hours recording. Harvest features characterised by open APIs such as REST and offers, among other things, a user-friendly mobile app.

Exact, immediate time entries – even on the road

The linkage to the planning tool made it possible to automatically provide in advance the orders and activity types for time recording to the installation assembly workers. Employees can make their time entries at any time via the mobile app, even offline if necessary. In addition, the list of individually available orders and activity types is clearly concise at all times, as it is coordinated online with the detailed planning. Transfers to the time recording in the ERP take place automatically on the basis of the weekly review and approval process. Redundant and contradictory entries are a thing of the past.
