Corporate website and product configurator seamlessly linked

How EAO consistently focuses on different customer journeys with a new corporate website and quickly guides every customer to suitable products or relevant information with a completely digitalised sales process.

New website with integrated digital 3D configurator

In 2020, Intelliact realised an intelligent online 3D product configurator for EAO in collaboration with front-end specialist Eyekon. This involved defining which product data from the company's systems can be used and how they can be linked to avoid redundant, isolated data storage. While the configurator was previously accessed via a separate landing page, it is now integrated directly into EAO's newly developed corporate website. This gives customers access to all marketing and product information in one place. In addition, all globally active distributors can be accessed directly after product configuration.

Project challenges

Optimum data consistency, intelligent connection of marketing and product data

To achieve the declared goal of the new website - marketing information, product data and configuration options in one place - Intelliact had to ensure optimal data consistency. To this end, Intelliact created and realised an architecture concept based on MACH (microservices, APIs, cloud-based, headless). This is based on specialised components or microservices that come together in an intelligent front-end application. To ensure that customers have up-to-date product data available at all times, all data needed to be automatically synchronised with EAO's internal Product Information Management (PIM) and the configurator. Other key challenges were the language-independent, global availability of country-specific content and the direct integration of globally active distributors in the website shop process.

Completely new website based on the MACH architecture concept

At the same time as integrating and linking the 3D product configurator in the new corporate website, Intelliact realised a whole series of innovations that ensure the data is always up-to-date and of high quality, reduce EAO's internal workload and increase customer satisfaction. These include, among other things

  • Consistent synchronisation of all downloads with EAO's internal PIM (data consistency)
  • Lead process integrated into the downloads
  • Mixed search results offer content pages and product information
  • Products can be dynamically integrated into pages and are therefore always up to date

Comprehensive information, quick configuration and worldwide ordering - all in one place

With target group-specific access in eight languages, EAO fulfils different needs and guides customers individually to the respective conversion. Using content tailored specifically to them or a full-text search, all customers can go directly to the desired product, which they can configure online and customise to their requirements. Thanks to the seamless linking of the corporate website and configurator, the search results include specific products in addition to content pages with texts, images and videos on the topic. With around 20,000 content modules, over a million product variants can be configured directly online - for all important HMI functions. After successful configuration, the seamless integration of global distributors rounds off the buying experience right through to check-out.
